All clients have rights and responsibilities when accessing Occupational Therapy services at reable


  • You have a right to

    • health care.

    You have a responsibility to:

    • Be on time for appointments (We may not be able to see you if you are late)

    • Let us know if you need to cancel your appointment

  • You have a right to:

    • Be listened to

    • Be treated with respect and without discrimination

    You have a responsibility to:

    • Treat other clients and staff with respect and without discrimination (Action may be taken against non-respectful behaviour)

  • You have a right to:

    • Good and safe care

    You have a responsibility to:

    • Follow the advice given

    • Or feel free to let the staff know if you can’t follow the advice

  • You have a right to:

    • Tell staff what you do and don’t like about our services. We will look into this fairly.

    You have a responsibility to:

    • Tell us if you have any concerns so that we can work through them with you

  • You have a right to:

    • Privacy and confidentiality of your personal information

    • Ask to be given a copy of your health record at any time

    You have a responsibility to:

    • Respect the privacy of other clients

  • You have a right to:

    • Make decisions about your healthcare plan

    • Involve your family/carer in your healthcare plan

    You have a responsibility to:

    • Look after your health as much as possible.

    • Be involved in decisions about your care

    • Choose to involve others in decisions about care

  • You have a right to:

    • Know about services, care options and fees in a clear and open way

    You have a responsibility to:

    • Give us accurate information and let us know if there are changes to your health or lifestyle

  • If you have concerns about the aged care you are receiving, you can:

    • talk to your provider, in the first instance

    • speak with an aged care advocate on 1800 700 600 or visit opan.com.au, for support to raise your concerns, or

    • contact the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission on 1800 951 822 or visit its website, agedcarequality.gov.au. The Commission can help you resolve a complaint about your aged care provider.
